Preparation

The transformational journey is what you make of it. Take some time before your session to set your intentions. What do you want to let go of? What do you want to bring in? What do you want to transform?

One to two hypnotherapy sessions can help you to access your intentions, clear out the static, and ultimately go deeper during your journey. Whether or not you choose to build a foundation with hypnotherapy, set aside some time to journal about what you’d like to explore during your journey. Some prompts might include:

  • Who are you now? Who do you want to be?
  • What attachments do you carry that no longer serve you? Why do you want to release them?
  • What’s blocking you from showing up how you want in your life, whether with yourself, with loved ones, or in your life’s purpose?
  • What or who do you want to forgive, and for what?
  • What fears are holding you back? What would your life be like without them?
  • What is the future of which you dream? Get as specific as you can.

Spending time in nature, gentle physical activity that is available to you, and using your existing mindfulness toolbox can also all support your preparations.

I recommend refraining from cannabis, alcohol, or other substances for a minimum of 72 hours before your journey.

You will also be asked to sign a waiver and participation agreement before the journey that acknowledges that you have spoken with a medical doctor.

The Journey

Try to get a good night’s sleep the night before, and eat a light and small meal a few hours in advance.

Set up a private space for your session where you will not be disturbed. For sessions in your own home, I recommend a yoga mat and blankets on the floor for stability, with plenty of pillows to create a nest for your journey. Have an eye covering, journal and pen, and glass of water standing by, and a light snack prepared and set aside for after. You can also gather any small personal items to aid in your intention setting, such as a photo, crystal, or oracle deck. Prepare your cannabis flower in advance of your journey. Wear comfortable clothing.

For virtual sessions, check your internet connection in advance, update your device, connect your device to a power source, and make sure you are visible on video.

We’ll begin by checking in and connecting to establish a secure container for your journey and bring your intentions to the surface. We’ll move to an opening meditation and instructions. You’ll experience an immersive guided meditation and journey, with a rich musical accompaniment, that will allow you to release what no longer serves you and embrace what does. As our time together comes to a close, you’ll be able to share your experience and start to integrate it into your transformed self, as well as ground and close out your journey.

Integration Services

Integrating your breakthroughs, lessons, and realizations from your journey is as important as the journey itself. This is the part where the true work begins. Taking a few moments each day to journal, reflect, and breathe is an essential part of getting everything you can from your experience. An integration session with me to process and to identify and implement action steps to move forward may be beneficial.

Drinking lots of water, prioritizing sleep, spending time in nature, and gentle physical activity can also support your integration.

Though an advantage of a cannabis-assisted journey is learning how to incorporate the plant ally into your own practices, I recommend refraining from cannabis, alcohol, or other substances for a few days after your journey to give yourself a chance to sit with what you learned.
