CANNABIS-ASSISTED PSYCHEDELIC THERAPY (CAPT)

Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT)

Many of us struggle with distraction, disconnection, and disassociation from our bodies, our selves, and our dreams. The practice of returning to the body through the breath and the transmutational power of psychedelic cannabis can be a pathway for letting go of the past, embracing the present, and moving towards a more embodied future.

Cannabis-assisted sessions are a unique opportunity to access a psychedelic experience within the realm of the everyday. Setting an intention to heal, transcend, and transform, alongside an experienced guide, allows us to access the same spiritual parts of ourselves as other psychedelics – while working with a plant that is legal in the state of California. It allows you to transport the skills you learn on your journey into your daily life.

With exploration comes transformation

Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy (CAPT) is an opportunity to explore and release trauma, go inward, and seek – and experience – transformation. It is appropriate both for those new to psychedelics and intentional cannabis use as well as for more experienced psychonauts.

Cannabis can support you in turning inward, resolving tension stored within the body, tracking inner sensations, and releasing traumas from the nervous system. With preparation, intention, a therapeutic container, and integration afterwards, cannabis can deepen the therapeutic process and make somatic, body-centered trauma work more efficient and effective.

Experience the profound emotional healing, physical release, and creative awakening that can come from cannabis-assisted body-focused mindfulness practices.

Preparing for a Psychedelic Cannabis Journey

The transformational journey is what you make of it. Take some time before your session to set your intentions.

What do you want to let go of? What do you want to bring in? What do you want to transform?

One to two hypnotherapy sessions or prep sessions can help you to access your intentions, clear out the static, and ultimately go deeper during your journey. Whether or not you choose to build a foundation with hypnotherapy, set aside some time to journal about what you’d like to explore during your journey.

Some prompts include:

  • Who are you now? Who do you want to be?
  • What attachments do you carry that no longer serve you? Why do you want to release them?
  • What’s blocking you from showing up how you want in your life, whether with yourself, with loved ones, or in your life’s purpose?
  • What or who do you want to forgive, and for what?
  • What fears are holding you back? What would your life be like without them?
  • What is the future of which you dream? Get as specific as you can.

Spending time in nature, gentle physical activity that is available to you, and using your existing mindfulness toolbox can also all support your preparations.

You will also be asked to sign a waiver and participation agreement before the journey that acknowledges that you have spoken with a medical doctor.

FAQs

Cannabis as a psychedelic? How does it compare with traditional psychedelics and other plant medicines?

The mainstream is increasingly recognizing the benefits of psychedelics to help with PTSD, anxiety and drepression; plant medicine and entheogens such as Ayahuasca, psilocybin, MDMA, Ketamine and others are on the rise in conversation now more than ever – but that doesn’t make them legal, accessible, or affordable to everyone. Cannabis is legal in the state of California, most folks are already using it or can easily afford it. When used with intention, cannabis can provide a gentler way to explore the deep inner work of plant medicine. In a session, the individual has more agency over their experience, with easy-to-adjust dosage and a shorter journey time (3-5 hours) compared with other psychedelics, with normal functioning resuming shortly after the session (though you still shouldn’t drive after).

How do I know whether this is a good fit for me?

Cannabis is not one size fits all, and everyone is different. If you are a regular weed user, have been doing inner self work on the regular, or are curious about plant medicine and mindfulness as tools for personal transformation, this might be a good fit for you – however, only you (and your medical doctor) can make that decision.

Working with cannabis is safe for most people, but it can also be emotionally intense and it is always best to err on the side of safety. You will be required to sign a Psychedelic Cannabis Participation Agreement before participating in a group event or solo journey that acknowledges that you have spoken with a medical doctor. If you have any questions or concerns please speak with Jordan, who will be screening everyone for safety.

I’m not ready for a solo journey and/or I'm on a budget. Do you offer group sessions?

Yes! A group cannabis-assisted journey can be a powerful experience to share and connect while in the company of fellow journeyers. Though it does not have the one-on-one attention and support that a solo journey involves, a group experience creates a powerful energetic container of like minded individuals. Please visit the  events page for info about the next Conscious Cannabis Circle.

Can cannabis-assisted journeys take place virtually and how effective are they?

Yes! One of the great things about this work is that it can and does happen in the virtual space. Although in-person journeys are preferred, you can participate in this experience anywhere you have a strong connection and can create a comfortable and private “nest.” Online can be just as powerful, especially when combined with breathwork. Try a combo!

Do you have a payment plan?

Yes. If you wish to make smaller payments, please ask. They would just need to be paid in full before the day of the first prep session.

What They Say About Cannabis-Assisted Psychedelic Therapy

“I felt very safe during the session. She was very open to answer any questions and provided me with everything I needed to know to have a good session. The initial phone conversations before the session helped me feel like she knew what she was doing and I could let go and allow the experience to happen. I had a very profound experience and I believe it really helped me overcome my PTSD that I’ve been crippled with for at least the past three years. I feel like my nervous system has been rewired. It’s been a few weeks since the session and I wondered if the good effects would wear off. No! I still feel great. Jordan is an angel who came to the rescue. I am a true believer in this work. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

“I have tried other plant medicine ceremonies, but this was the most profound. Jordan did such an amazing job explaining how to set up and what to expect. The way she opened the session was great to get settled in for a wild ride, that literally changed how I see my life and existence. The music she chose was the icing on the cake that helped guide the journey. It brought up things to work on and showed me where I should be. A most amazing journey! Thank you Jordan!”

“I did a canna journey with Jordan two weeks ago and it was amazing.  Jordan guided me perfectly through a long and enlightening trip.  She is great to work with and the experience was very worthwhile.

“I deeply appreciate Jordan’s care, guidance, and wisdom in this process. Her investment in the wellbeing of her clients is obvious, as is her excitement about helping them achieve clarity and awareness. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to expand their healing work into the psychedelic space, and I know I will return to Jordan for future journeys.”

“My Conscious Cannabis experience led by Jordan Wolan was an enlightening & expanding experience. Jordan was there every step of the way, from walking me through the ceremony in a planning meeting to re-integration several days after my experience. During my journey, accompanied by Jordan’s words of guidance and encouragement, I was able to explore my inner space. I confronted a childhood memory I had forgotten, that was helpful with current relationship problem solving with a family member. I also encountered what appeared to be a future version of myself, perhaps several years down the road into my transition. Being genderfluid nonbinary, it can be a challenge to know the path I want my transition to take, but being able to sit with a potential version of myself created a sense of calm & peace I haven’t yet felt in regards to my gender(s). That experience alone was worth the whole journey. If you haven’t had a Conscious Cannabis session I highly recommend you experience it for yourself.”
